Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich: GOOOOOAL! Sane makes it 2-0! Sane Siro it is!
Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich: GOOOOOAL! Sane makes it 2-0! Sane Siro it is!

66’ — GOAL! Leroy Sane makes it 2-0! Or is it an own goal? We don’t actually care.

61’ — Subs: Goretzka on for Sabitzer.

45’ — The second half is underway!

Halftime observations and analysis

  • Bayern Munich have a deserved lead at half time. If not for Andre Onana, the scoreline should read 2 or 3-0 to Bayern. Chance conversion remains an issue.
  • Marcel Sabitzer might need to tone it down a little, his constant fouling isn’t going unnoticed by the referee.
  • Leroy Sane has been left mostly alone by Inter on his side of the pitch. Aside from the goal, he hasn’t been getting much service. Bayern could use the left side a lot more.

Halftime: Bayern lead 1-0.

24’ — GOAL! Leroy Sane makes it 1-0! We call this stadium the Sane Siro now.

Kickoff: We’re underway at the San Siro!

One hour until kickoff: We have lineups. And ... it’s not good. Bayern Munich will be starting without Jamal Musiala or Serge Gnabry, with Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman taking their places instead. Thomas Muller and Sadio Mane start up top, and the rest of the lineup is as you’d expect with Matthijs de Ligt paired with Lucas Hernandez at center-back. Let’s hope Nagelsmann knows what he’s doing.

In the Champions League, you start from scratch every year. That’s a good thing in this case, as Bayern Munich fans want to forget last season’s campaign as soon as possible. Manuel Neuer says that this team is a favorite to win the whole competition. We’ll see how true that is in this game against Inter Milan.

Inter are one of the best sides in Serie A. They have a solid 3-5-2 system and a good coach in Simone Inzaghi. Julian Nagelsmann, however, has a team full of superstar players. With the likes of Thomas Muller, Sadio Mane, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich, he is expected to come away from the San Siro with a win. Anything less bodes ill for Bayern’s chances this season, especially with the group being as packed as it is. A strong start is needed.

It’s Bayern time.
