Pick your Liverpool team to face Bournemouth in the Premier League

Liverpool host Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon in the Premier League – but who should start for Jurgen Klopp’s side?

Have your say, here.

FT: Tottenham 3-3 Liverpool

Full-time and Liverpool U21s have come from 3-0 down at half-time to earn a 3-3 draw at Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2. The excellent Chambers, Woltman and Blair netted for the young Reds, who more than deserved their point. Fantastic effort

GOAL! Tottenham 3-3 Liverpool

Incredible! Liverpool are back to 3-3 as Blair absolutely smashes one in from the angle after great play by Chambers. They deserve this. Still 15 minutes to go. Can they win it?

GOAL! Tottenham 3-2 Liverpool

Well, well, well. Liverpool pull another goal back as, after some insistent pressure, Woltman curls a low shot in from the edge of the area. 3-2 on 70 minutes

Unlucky for Liverpool again, as Corness breaks from deep into the area, goes past one defender and shoots across the goalkeeper but hits the post. Second time he’s hit the woodwork tonight.

GOAL! Tottenham 3-1 Liverpool

Hello, hello. Liverpool have a goal back as Chambers scores with the second attempt after his first shot was saved by Tottenham goalkeeper Maguire. 3-1 now on 53 minutes

Spurs three goals to the good at HT

Half-time and two defensive mistakes have put Liverpool in a tricky position at 3-0 down in their Premier League 2 clash at Tottenham. Corness hit the bar for the visitors, Frauendorf should have scored and Woltman was also close for the Reds, who were on top for much of the half.

GOAL: Tottenham 3-0 Liverpool

Another blunder in the Liverpool defence and it’s 3-0 to Tottenham on 44 minutes. The Reds lost possession through Jonas and Santiago could easily run straight through the middle and go past Davies to score. Incredible they’re 3-0 down, to be honest.

GOAL: Tottenham 2-0 Liverpool

Those missed Liverpool chances prove costly as Tottenham go 2-0 ahead on 42 minutes. Santiago gets in behind down the right and runs into the area and finishes from a very narrow angle. Disappointing.

Tottenham response

Mundle fires over after Quansah didn’t properly connect with a clearance. Tottenham have been second best to Liverpool for much of this half but could have gone 2-0 up there.

Unlikely stoppage

The referee Greg Rollason has suffered a calf problem and cannot continue. It seems merely officiating on Liverpool games is enough to pick up an injury these days.

Reds beginning to find their way

Corness plays a great ball in from deep and slide in Woltman but the touch is slight heavy and that allows Tottenham goalkeeper Maguire to collect. Liverpool still 1-0 down halfway through first half, but creating chances.

Corness shot strikes the crossbar!

Blimey. What a goal that would have been. Corness thrashes a volley from 25 yards that beats the goalkeeper but crashes against the crossbar. Unlucky, that. Liverpool still 1-0 down on 18 minutes.

Frauendorf chance

Liverpool waste a great chance to equalise. Stewart is clattered by the goalkeeper and the ball drops for Frauendorf for an open net, but the winger tried a clever lob instead of just shooting and drops it over the bar. Needed to score, really.

GOAL – Tottenham U21s 1-0 Liverpool U21s

Liverpool U21s are under way at Tottenham. And they are already behind after five minutes, Quansah caught in possession by Donley, who then played across for Mundle to tap in. Not a great start. 1-0 down.

On the comeback trail

Ibrahima Konate has shared an image with supporters on social media as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.

The French defender has been out injured since picking up a knock in the Reds’ friendly with Strasbourg at Anfield on July 31.

His return to action will certainly be welcomed, on the back of an impressive deubt campaign for the club.

Liverpool ‘tracking Celtic midfielder

Liverpool are one of a number of sides said to be monitoring Celtic midfielder, Matt O’Riley.

The 21-year-old joined the reigning Scottish top-flight champions from MK Dons in January and has hit the ground running in the SPL.

Such has been the impact of O’Riley, ESPN have stated the youngster has caught the attention of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Manchester United.

This is obviously a position the Reds are being tipped to strenghten in, given the club’s injury issues in this department.

Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool are ‘working constantly’ on transfers and refuses to rule out new signing

Jurgen Klopp has revealed Liverpool are continuing to work on strengthening their squad before the transfer deadline – but won’t compromise on any targets.

The Reds are assessing their options as they grapple with an ongoing availability crisis that will see them without 10 senior players for Saturday’s Premier League visit of Bournemouth.

Liverpool have not made any incomings since June 19 when 19-year-old right back Calvin Ramsay followed Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho in arriving at Anfield.

There have been subsequent calls by sections of the fanbase for a new midfielder given the lack of current options in the engine room, particularly with Liverpool having been interested in Aurelien Tchouameni earlier this summer before the player opted to leave Monaco for Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp on transfers

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t ruled out Liverpool dipping back into the transfer market as cries for the Reds to sign a midfielder intensify with the window closing on Thursday.

“It has to be the right player – if we are not convinced, we don’t do it.”

Will Liverpool sign anyone before the window closes?

Injury update from Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has issued an update on Naby Keita’s injury that kept him out of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Monday night.

“Naby will not be ready for the weekend. It’s a muscle. It’s not 100% clear.”

Respects paid to Olivia

Ian Rush and Ian Snodin paid their respects to Olivia Pratt-Korbel after the nine-year-old was killed after being shot in a horrifying attack in Liverpool.

RIP Olivia.

Liverpool ‘swap’ deal?

Roberto Firmino is linked with a move away from Anfield and could be used in a ‘swap deal’ with PSG for Leandro Paredes.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool have set their sights on signing Paredes before the transfer window closes. It has been claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side will make a “last-ditch attempt” to sign the Argentina international.

The report goes a step further by claiming that Liverpool could offer Roberto Firmino to PSG in part-exchange. It has also been reported that both Firmino and Paredes are valued between €25m-€30m (£21m-£25m).

UEFA Men’s Player of the Season

Former Liverpool man Sadio Mane finished sixth in the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year as Karim Benzema picked up the award.

Mo Salah finished seventh while Virgil van Dijk was 10th on the list.

Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho

The talented 19-year-old duo have both featured in all of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season and Saturday’s match with Bournemouth could see them both in the starting XI for the first time.

Elliott spoke to “It’s just making sure that we do what we can to sort of help the team out.

“Obviously we’re younger players in the team but we’ve had loads of experience, so we can’t really use that as an excuse when it comes to these big games. Either we’re starting or coming on, we just need to make sure that we’re fully focused and to impact the game.”

Conor Gallagher to Liverpool a good idea?

I have been toying with the idea of Liverpool having Conor Gallagher in thier midfield and have come to the conclusion he’d be a great signing for Jurgen Klopp. The problem is the club he is at; Chelsea. They are very unlikely to sell to Liverpool.

Alas, the Reds need to act in the transfer window because the midfield looked a shadow of itself at Manchester United and reinforcements need to be made if this season is get on track.

Frenkie de Jong ‘bid’

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool have are prepared to ‘bid £60 million’ for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong with the hunt for a midfielder continuing.

Jurgen Klopp has many injuries to midfield department of his Liverpool side – who only have two points from a possible nine in the Premier League this season.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with De Jong all summer, but have failed to strike an agreement to sign the talent.

Could Liverpool hijack a potential deal?

Liverpool vs Ajax

Ajax chief exec Edwin van der Sar has spoken about his the Dutch side drawing Liverpool in Group A in the Champions League.

“I think for the fans it’s fantastic. Two years ago we played Liverpool in the group stage and it was during COVID so the fan were very disappointed they couldn’t go to Anfield.”

Henry Winter on Jude Bellingham

Henry Winter of The Times on Jude Bellingham to Liverpool: “I’m looking forward to seeing Bellingham at LFC next year, just hope Dele regains his drive wherever.”
